Uptime Monitor

Uptime Monitor is a mini-SNMP console for monitoring the status of network devices.  It is the result of several development projects in the network management market and serves as a light-weight console for the element management software that we developed under contract for other comapnies.  Uptime Monitor provides a network administrator with a simple interface for monitoring the status of key SNMP-enabled devices on their network.

Alert! for WindowsNT

As corporations have become increasingly dependent on their network systems, a necessary management feature is the ability to be aware of changes as they occur within network devices. The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) has become the de-facto standard for monitoring and making changes in network devices over the last several years. However, due to the lag in vendor support, or excessive expense, many critical network components still do not yet support SNMP. Alert! addresses several areas of management within your WindowsNT workstation or server to assist you in being more aware of the server configuration and operation.

Alert! is a WindowsNT service which can be loaded on all of your NT servers or workstations. It will generate Standard SNMP TRAPs to any SNMP management console to notify you of important WindowsNT OS and applicaton events. The TRAPs represent information about Configuration, Performance, Security, and Accounting Management. Each TRAP is sent including the Network Integration Enterprise ID, a unique specific TRAP ID, and variable bindings that provide details about the event.

There are more than 500 TRAPs that are built into Alert! and ALL WindowsNT Event Log messages can be remapped into standard SNMP TRAPs. Previously these event messages could only be seen if you viewed your WindowsNT event log. Now these messages can be sent to your SNMP Management Station for immediate notification. Conditions such as Services starting or stopping, Security changes, Hardware and Software problems - all messages that would appear in your event log - can now be reported and easily tracked.

NLMAlert is a Novell NetWare Loadable Module (NLM) that can be loaded on all of your NetWare file servers. It will generate Standard SNMP TRAPs to any SNMP management console to notify you of important NetWare events. The TRAPs represent information about Configuration, Performance, Security, and Accounting Management. Each TRAP is sent including the Network Integration Enterprise ID, a unique specific TRAP ID, and variable bindings that provide details about the event.

There are more than 60 TRAPs that are built into NLMAlert and ALL NetWare console messages can be remapped into standard SNMP TRAPs. Previously these console messages could only be seen if you continuously watched your file server console, or viewed your NetWare error log. Now these messages can be sent to your SNMP Management Station for immediate notification. Conditions such as NLMs being loaded or unloaded, Security changes, Intruder Detection, Hardware and Software problems - all messages that would appear on your
file server console - can now be reported and easily tracked.

In the course of our consulting work we have continuously been developing testing tools to assist in examining SNMP devices. Some of these tools have since become useful enough that we have decided to release reduced functionality or outright FREE versions.
